Fire Service Instructor

Instructors will be responsible for providing academic knowledge and vocational skills training for personnel of their organization as well as personnel from other organizations and citizens from the community.

Objectives

    The end of this course participants will be able to:
  1. Prepare lesson plans
  2. Assemble course material
  3. Review and adapt lesson plans to individuals or group
  4. Present lessons from a prepared lesson plan.
  5. Prepare and maintain training records

Target Group 
Fire Officers, Crew Managers and Watch Managers

Lectures, exercises and case studies, demonstration

Course participation, exercise and written examination

Introduction to Incident Command Systems ICS 100

The (ICS 100) Course provides the foundation for higher level incident training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). 
Primary Audience 
Persons involved with emergency planning, response or recovery efforts. 
This course is NIMS compliant and meets the NIMS Baseline Training requirements for I-100. 
Target Group: Non Commission Officers 
Course Length: 10 days – 5 days online and 5 days in class. 
Both modules must be completed for successful completion.

Crew Manager

This course is the first phase of the Barbados Fire Service Crew Manager Programme. It is designed to prepare/enhance the crew manager’s ability to supervise subordinates. It will introduce key management and leadership concepts and practices.

Watch Manager

This course is designed to prepare watch managers and potential watch managers to effectively and efficiently manage a watch/station in the Barbados Fire Service. It is meant to be a progression from the crew manager.
