Mr. Whitfield Marshall the ninth appointed serving Chief Fire Officer was appointed Chief Fire Officer from 2010 to December 2014 following the retirement of Mr. Chesterfield Mayers. Marshall service the department for 39 years and has certificates in international disaster management from Bournemouth University, England; in public administration from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, and in executive analysis of fire service operations in emergency management, from the United States’ National Fire Academy. Marshall, is married with three children and was awarded the Barbados Service Medal in 1991 and 2006
