Mr. Tony Scantlebury enlisted in the Barbados Fire Service on February 1, 1993. Throughout his career, he worked at various fire stations across the island, where he honed his firefighting skills and deepened his knowledge of fire safety and crew management operations. On April 15, 2025, he was appointed to the post of Sub-Officer.
Mr. Tony Scantlebury was given the responsibility to lead the Students’ Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E) Program as a Fire Prevention Officer in the Fire Prevention Unit. This was just the first of many responsibilities in the department for Station Officer (Ag) Tony Scantlebury, for he also held the Training Officer portfolio of the Barbados Fire Academy.
He currently holds the responsibilities of the Fire Cadet Director and Officer in charge of the St. John Fire Station.
Mr. Tony Scantlebury holds an Associate’s Degree in Public Administration and Management.
His philosophy is “change will happen,” so be part of the change and ask the Lord to grant you the serenity to accept the things you can’t change.
